If you’ve ever had a moment where you just knew something before you had the proof, you’ve experienced intuition. Maybe you thought of someone seconds before they called. Maybe you felt uneasy walking into a situation that looked perfectly fine on the outside. Maybe you’ve had dreams that later unfolded in real life. And then, almost immediately, you questioned yourself: “Am I just making this up?”
I want you to hear me on this: You are not making it up. Your intuition is real. It’s the language of your soul. It’s how Spirit whispers to you, how your higher self guides you, and how your loved ones on the other side remind you that you’re never walking alone. The reason so many of us doubt it is because intuition doesn’t always roar like thunder—it often shows up as a whisper, a soft nudge, or a fleeting thought. It’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. But once you understand how it truly works, you’ll never question those inner nudges again.
What Intuition Really Is
Intuition is not guessing, luck, or imagination running wild. Intuition is your soul speaking to you through feelings, images, sensations, and knowings that bypass the logical mind. It’s that moment when something inside you just clicks—before you even know why.
The best way I can describe it is this: logic dissects, but intuition downloads. Logic will give you the step-by-step instructions. Intuition simply hands you the answer. It doesn’t always tell you how—but it tells you what is true.
You’ve probably had those moments where you walked into a room and felt the energy immediately. Nobody said a word, but you knew if it was warm, heavy, joyful, or tense. That’s your intuitive field reading the energy before your mind has the evidence. Spirit doesn’t need words—it speaks in vibration, and you are wired to sense it.
And here’s the part I love reminding people of: intuition isn’t just for the “gifted.” Every single person is born intuitive. Children show it all the time—talking to Spirit, knowing when their parents are upset, predicting things before they happen. Over time, we get conditioned to shut it down. We’re told “it’s just your imagination” or “don’t be silly.” But the truth is, intuition is less about learning and more about remembering. You were born with this gift. It’s been with you all along.
The Soul Science of Intuition
I love blending Spirit with science—because the two don’t contradict each other, they validate each other. Science is finally catching up to what spiritual teachers have always known: intuition is real, it’s measurable, and it lives in your very body.
Your subconscious mind processes about 11 million pieces of information per second, while your conscious mind only handles about 40. That means your soul, your energy, your nervous system are constantly receiving and interpreting information far beyond what your thinking brain can keep up with. What we call “intuition” is often your body and Spirit pulling the pieces together before your mind gets there.
This is why we feel intuition in the body. Ever notice how your stomach flips when something feels wrong? Or how your chest expands when something feels right? That’s because your body is a receiver. Your gut is literally filled with neurons—so much so that scientists call it the “second brain.” Your heart, too, is incredible. It emits an electromagnetic field that stretches several feet around you, picking up the energy of others and your environment. When you sense someone’s mood without them saying a word, that’s not guessing—that’s your heart’s field interacting with theirs.
And here’s where it gets even more mind-blowing: research shows our bodies can sometimes sense things seconds before they happen. Skin, heart rate, and brain activity respond before the actual event. That’s why you sometimes “know” something is coming—you literally do. Spirit works through your biology. Your body is your instrument.
Why It Feels Like You’re Making It Up
Let’s talk about the doubt, because I know that’s where most of you struggle. Spirit doesn’t come crashing in like a movie scene. Spirit comes gently. Subtly. And guess what Spirit uses to communicate? The same part of your brain you use for imagination. That’s why so many students say to me: “But what if I’m making it up?”
Here’s the truth: imagination is the doorway. Spirit paints on the canvas of your mind. That image that pops up—the sunflower, the red shoes, the song lyric—that’s not random. That’s how Spirit speaks. Your job is not to decide if it’s real in the moment. Your job is to honor it and share it. The validation will come.
When I was first starting out, I doubted constantly. I’d see things and think, “This is silly.” Until the day I saw a red checkered blanket. I almost stayed quiet. But when I shared it, the sitter gasped—her father had been buried with that exact blanket. That was the moment I understood: Spirit works through the imagination. That’s not “making it up.” That’s being a channel.
The reason it feels fake is because we’ve been conditioned to expect intuition to feel heavy, dramatic, or crystal clear. In truth, it feels natural. Easy. Quiet. Almost ordinary. But ordinary doesn’t mean unreal. Some of Spirit’s most powerful messages come through the simplest nudges.
Intuition vs. Fear vs. Desire
This is a question I hear all the time: “How do I know if it’s my intuition, or if it’s just fear… or maybe something I really want?”
Here’s the difference: intuition feels calm. It doesn’t argue. It doesn’t repeat itself over and over. It just lands—a simple yes or no, a lightness or heaviness, a knowing in your bones. Even if it’s warning you, it doesn’t scream—it guides.
Fear is the opposite. Fear is loud, chaotic, and repetitive. It races through your head with worst-case scenarios. Fear leaves you drained and anxious. Desire, on the other hand, is colored by longing. It pushes. It wants. It leans into what you hope will happen rather than what is true.
Let me give you an example. Say you’re considering taking a new job. Intuition might show up as a quiet sense of expansion: “This feels aligned.” Fear might shout: “What if I fail? What if it’s a mistake?” Desire might pull at you: “I want the title, the money, the recognition.” See the difference? Intuition is steady. Fear is chaotic. Desire is hungry.
When in doubt, ask your body. Intuition lives in your body. If your body feels light and calm, that’s intuition. If your chest tightens, your stomach knots, or your head spins—that’s fear or desire. Intuition is Spirit’s whisper. Fear and desire are the mind’s chatter.
Intuition Across Time
One of the most extraordinary things about intuition is that it isn’t bound by time. Spirit isn’t limited by clocks and calendars the way we are. When your intuition speaks, it can be about the present moment, the past that still lingers in your energy, or even the future that your soul already knows is on its way. This is why some intuitive nudges feel “random.” They’re not random—they’re Spirit helping you align with what has already been set in motion.
Think about moments when you’ve felt a strong sense of déjà vu. That “I’ve been here before” feeling is your soul recognizing something your conscious mind hasn’t placed yet. It’s as though your intuition already saw it long before your brain caught up. Or consider when you felt uneasy about leaving the house, only to later discover you avoided an accident or delay. Intuition pulled you out of harm’s way, even before it happened.
Intuition also helps us heal the past. Sometimes you’ll feel drawn to revisit an old memory, a childhood story, or a person you haven’t thought of in years. That’s your soul guiding you toward unfinished healing. Spirit doesn’t bring things up to punish us—it brings things up to free us. Intuition allows you to see the past in a new light so you can release what no longer serves you.
And when it comes to the future, intuition is often the quiet nudge that leads you into alignment with your highest path. Have you ever had a “random” idea that changed everything? Or felt pulled toward something that made no sense at the time but later turned out to be life-changing? That’s intuition reaching forward. Spirit is always walking a few steps ahead, gently pulling you along the path your soul already knows.
The Language of Spirit
Spirit doesn’t always use words to get our attention. In fact, most of the time, Spirit speaks through subtle impressions that flow into our intuitive senses. These senses are often called the “clairs”—clairvoyance (seeing), clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience (feeling), and claircognizance (knowing). Each one is a different doorway Spirit can use to reach you.
For some of you, intuition shows up visually. You might see symbols in your mind’s eye—a rose, a house, a number. For others, it’s auditory. You might hear a word, a song lyric, or even the name of a loved one in Spirit whispered quietly inside your head. If you’re clairsentient, intuition will arrive as feelings in your body—joy, heaviness, chills, pressure. And if claircognizance is your strength, you simply know. The information drops in, complete and undeniable.
What’s important to remember is that you don’t need to force which clair shows up for you. Spirit will use the channel that is most natural to your energy. Over time, you may develop multiple clairs. But usually one or two are stronger in the beginning, and those will become your starting point.
The more you practice noticing how Spirit speaks to you, the more fluent you’ll become in the language of intuition. Imagine learning French or Spanish—you begin slowly, but with time, you start thinking in the language. Intuition works the same way. Practice, trust, and attention turn the whispers into conversations.
Building Your Intuitive Muscles
Intuition is like a muscle—the more you use it, the stronger it becomes. But you have to practice. Waiting for intuition only in the “big moments” (like life decisions) is like expecting to run a marathon without training. Daily practice strengthens the connection so that when you really need it, it’s second nature.
Start small. Guess who’s calling before you check your phone. Notice the energy of a room before anyone speaks. Ask yourself how you feel about a decision before analyzing it. These small moments add up, proving to you that you can trust your inner knowing. Over time, Spirit will meet you with bigger validations.
Journaling is another powerful tool. Write down every intuitive nudge you receive—even the ones that feel silly. Then, go back weeks later and notice how many came true or aligned. The evidence will quiet your doubt. Intuition becomes undeniable when you track it.
Think of it this way: every time you honor your intuition, you strengthen the signal. Spirit responds to trust. The more you say “yes” to the whispers, the louder and clearer they become.
Spirit’s Hidden Keys of Communication
Spirit doesn’t just speak through feelings or words—it also uses symbols, synchronicities, and emotion itself as currency. You might suddenly feel an overwhelming wave of sadness that isn’t yours, only to later discover a friend was grieving at the same moment. Or you might keep seeing repeating numbers, animals, or objects that carry meaning for you.
These patterns are not coincidence. They are Spirit aligning with you. Think of them as signposts on your soul’s path. If butterflies keep showing up during a time of transition, that’s Spirit affirming your transformation. If you hear the same song three times in a day, pay attention to the lyrics—they may carry a message.
Symbols are personal. Spirit may show me a sunflower to represent joy, but for you it could represent a loved one. That’s why it’s important to build your own spiritual dictionary. Ask Spirit: “What does this mean for me?” Over time, you’ll notice Spirit uses consistent patterns to speak with you.
Emotion is another key. Spirit often brings feelings—sudden joy, tears, nostalgia—not to overwhelm you, but to validate the presence of something sacred. Those feelings are not random. They’re a direct line of communication.
Advanced Truths About Intuition
Here’s what most people don’t tell you:
Intuition always speaks first. The first thought, image, or feeling that arrives is intuition. Everything after is your mind debating it.
It gets stronger with evidence. The more you act on intuition and see the results, the louder Spirit speaks.
It protects you. Every time you’ve avoided danger, turned away from the wrong person, or followed a nudge that led to something beautiful—that was intuition at work.
Many people expect intuition to feel supernatural. But the truth is, intuition feels natural. It’s not supposed to feel foreign—it’s supposed to feel like coming home to yourself.
Daily Practice: A 5-Minute Intuitive Activation
Here’s a practice you can try today:
Sit in a quiet place. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply three times.
Place one hand on your heart and one on your gut. These are your intuitive centers.
Ask Spirit: “What do I need to know for my highest good today?”
Notice the very first image, word, or feeling that comes. Don’t filter it.
Write it down. At the end of the day, reflect on how it showed up.
If you repeat this daily, you’ll notice Spirit’s whispers become louder and your trust becomes unshakable.
Intuition as Your Soul Path
Your intuition is not just about making everyday choices. It is the compass of your soul’s journey. It can reveal whether you are called to be a Healer (working with energy and emotion), a Psychic (perceiving what others cannot see, including future possibilities), or a Medium (connecting with Spirit and bridging the two worlds).
You may be called to more than one path, but your intuition will always lead you toward your deepest soul alignment. This is why ignoring it feels heavy and confusing, while trusting it brings peace and clarity.
Your gifts are not an accident. They are the blueprint of your soul. Intuition is how you unlock them.
Final Thoughts
Your intuition is not your imagination. It is not random. It is not something reserved for “special people.” It is the birthright of your soul. Spirit is always whispering. The question is not if you are intuitive—it’s are you listening?
When you learn to trust it, life flows. Doors open. Synchronicities align. And you begin to live not just from your head, but from your heart and soul.
You are intuitive. You always have been. It’s time to trust it.
